We Need To Think About How Much A Pet Will Cost

Pets may cost a lot of money to buy. They can also cost a lot of money to keep. You need to make sure they have somewhere to sleep, toys to play and exercise with, a collar and leash, or harness, grooming tools and food and water bowls.

Cats and dogs need to be registered every year with your local council. They will be given a special tag to wear. This tells which council they belong to and it also has a special number, which tells who they belong to.

Our pets need to visit the Vet for check ups and injections to keep them healthy. We also need to treat them for worms and fleas. Vets look after our pets the same way doctors look after us.

Our pets also need special diets. Dogs and cats have different needs so they need to be fed different foods. Puppies and kittens have different needs to adult dogs and cats. When our pets grow old they have different needs again. Very active pets will need more food than those who are not active. In most cases big pets need to eat more food than smaller pets.
